Reflections appear hazy rather than sharp, even after the surface has been properly washed.
A faded hull is often the visible result of surface oxidation. Weather and UV exposure gradually degrade the outermost gelcoat, reducing colour depth and reflection until the finish looks flat or leaves a chalky residue.
That does not automatically mean the hull needs repainting. Where enough sound gelcoat remains, a measured correction process may remove the degraded surface and reveal a clearer finish beneath.
